BIOGRAPHY OF EMILI BOSCH ROGER:
Barcelona, ​​1894-1980

Emili Bosch Roger, a self-taught painter, was born in Barcelona in 1894 and died in 1980. He began his career as a set designer, presenting his works at the VI International Art Exhibition held in Barcelona in 1911. Later, he delved into easel painting, focusing on mainly in landscape and still life.

Considered a member of the pictorial generation of 1917, along with Jaume Mercadé, Josep de Togores and Manuel Humbert, Bosch Roger experienced initial influences from Fauvism and then evolved towards constructivism. Most of his works focus on urban and suburban landscapes. In the early years of the 1950s, together with Josep Amat, he was recognized as one of the best interpreters of the Barcelona landscape. In addition, he was a founding member of the Agrupació d’Artistes Catalans and a partner of the Saló dels Evolucionistes.

Some of the awards he received throughout his career are:

1931: Cambó Prize in the "Barcelona vista pels seus artistses" competition for the work "El Paral lel", which is currently exhibited at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC).

1968: Ciutat de Barcelona Prize for drawing.

Emili Bosch Roger left a significant legacy in the Catalan art scene, standing out for his stylistic evolution and his contribution to urban landscaping, especially in the representation of the city of Barcelona.
